Online Resources and Mental Health

Your website isn’t just a placeholder for your business, it’s a purpose-built marketing and communication tool. It should clearly and concisely convey who you are, what you do and how your services can help the people who need them most.

Mental health is a complex subject. One of the greatest challenges in this space I feel, is the barrier to entry for individuals seeking help.

But what do I mean by ‘barrier to entry’?

In short: taking the first step.

Even in 2025, many people living with mental health challenges face both internal and external stigma, social conditioning often but not always pushes them to “suffer in silence” or avoid vulnerability. It’s something many of us have experienced firsthand, myself included.

This stigma, shaped by the society we grow up in, as well as personal factors like age, gender and cultural background, can quietly but powerfully reinforce the idea that we shouldn’t speak up or seek help. Combined with the weight of the mental health issues themselves, these factors often form invisible walls that prevent people from accessing support.

I believe these barriers are a core factor of what prevents early intervention and support.

That’s why our work in the mental health space is deeply personal. Our goal, shaped by lived experience, is to support the organisations and professionals on the front line by creating digital resources that lower these barriers.

In today’s world, the internet is often the first place someone turns to when they’re experiencing an internal tipping point. This is especially true in those quiet, private moments when someone decides to explore their options, before reaching out to another person.

That’s why for mental health professionals and organisations, your website isn’t just a marketing tool. It should be a well-considered, accessible and empathetic resource. One that:

  • Clearly communicates who you are and how you can help
  • Answers common questions that reduce fear or uncertainty
  • Links to free, credible, evidence-based tools and information
  • Helps individuals recognise their own experience in the language and resources you provide
  • Makes it easy to take the next step, whether that’s booking an appointment, making an anonymous enquiry, or accessing crisis support

The easier and safer you make it for someone to connect, the more likely they are to take action.

We’re proud to partner with mental health professionals who share this commitment. We learn so much through collaboration, whether it’s building a site, sitting down for a coffee or attending an industry event. Every conversation helps shape our mission: removing barriers so more people can get the help they need, when they need it most.
